Tuesday 07:52, London
I needed the shower first today, the oxygen and the movement. An hour or two more would have done.
The weather’s turned a corner. It’s always turning corners, or whatever angles we build in its path. The atmosphere fills every space we create, the deepest mines and the cabins of the loftiest flights. There’s no escaping our atmosphere, unless you’re halfway to the moon.
Change is inbuilt, natural, embedded. It wasn’t going to stay grey and cold all summer. It wouldn’t do that to us. We’re back at average, or what feels like it. Mid-to-low twenties in the daytime.
The weather turned a corner and the street looks different.
